Hello, I'm Jocelyn
I’m a Registered Social Worker with a masters degree in clinical social work and I love connecting with my clients.
I’m currently accepting new clients at my practice here in Pincher Creek.
I am passionate about human nature and the natural world. Initially I pursued an undergraduate degree in environmental science and worked in science journalism for several years during which time I discovered a fascination for human relationship with the environment. I decided to pursue a career in social work completing an undergraduate degree in 2013, and followed my passion for helping others. In 2021 I completed my Master of Social Work with clinical specialization and have worked both for Alberta Health Services as mental health therapist and as school counsellor at a local elementary school.
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy and draw from evidence based theories, EMDR, CBT, DBT and self compassion. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief & loss and relationship conflict as well as providing support through life transitions. I believe counselling should be safe and non judgmental and honor your experience. My clients describe me as compassionate, open minded and easy to talk to.
Living in a small community I understand the importance of confidentiality and privacy. My office is discretely located in the historic Lebel Mansion, with rear door access.
Reaching out for help is difficult and you’ve already made a big step just by being here. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation so that you have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and get an idea of my approach to counselling. Please contact me to book your consultation - I would love to connect with you and be a part of your journey.
